DeWalch Family

A native Houstonian, Dr. DeWalch is an avid learner. Dr. DeWalch is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner through Functional Medicine University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Texas Christian University and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College. He also holds credentials as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) as well as a Fellow of the International American Medical Acupuncture (FIAMA). Dr. DeWalch is Board certified in Acupuncture from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Dr. DeWalch is blessed to have been in practice for 19 years now. He has taken care of athletes of all calibers over his career. Dr. DeWalch was a provider for Rice University Athletics for 6 years and still assists when his business partners aren’t available, he has worked for the Houston Rockets and has treated countless professional and retired professional athletes. Dr. DeWalch has had the honor of working with several members of the Houston Ballet and members of the Houston dance community. Dr. DeWalch primarily works with endurance athletes such as triathletes and marathoners, but works with rock climbers and mountain climbers alike. Dr. DeWalch loves to work with the everyday athlete. The athlete that juggles family, career & the pursuit of health and fitness.

Dr. DeWalch was raised as a patient of Functional Medicine because his Mother knew there is more to health and a deeper better way of striving to be health in the modern world. Dr. DeWalch lives a Functional lifestyle both internally and mechanically. Dr. DeWalch understand and believes there needs to be a balance to life. There are times to be strict (diet & lifestyle) and times to relax and enjoy all of your hard work.
Dr. DeWalch has worked with athletes performing at their peak fitness level but fueling with poor foods void of the proper nutrients, burning the candle at both ends and eventually succumbing to injury or an inability to train even at very low levels. Gastrointestinal concerns, hormonal and nutrient deficiencies plague our community. These concerns typically are only addressed as lower back, hip or knee pain leaving the deeper root cause to arise later and larger. Dr. DeWalch wants to help prevent these concerns, but more importantly he wants to improve performance and health.

Dr. DeWalch enjoys being part of a health care team working with Medical Doctors, Doctors of Osteopathy, Massage Therapist, Physical Therapists, Acupuncturists, MyoFascial Stretch Therapists, Pilates Instructors, Yoga Instructors and Natural Health Care Practitioners.

When he’s not at the clinic, Dr. DeWalch enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, best friend, and running partner Cricket. Cricket & Dr. DeWalch were blessed by the birth of their daughter Sophie in 2012 and again in 2014 by the birth of their daughter Lauren.

Dr. DeWalch is a runner & Triathlete, focusing on Structure (stability exercises) & Function (internal physiology) to allow him to continue his athletic pursuits. Dr. DeWalch’s current goals are to do the Grand Canyon – Rim to Rim to Rim and to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
